One of the more recent studies by The National Center for Fathering (link below), shows that over a ten year period from 1999 to 2009, fathers' involvement in their children's studies is increasing across every single aspect surveyed. Over the same timeframe, however, a study by The Office for National Statistics in the UK reported survey results showing that mothers still provided 75% of the time spent on Childcare in the average home. ?So, clearly there is more room for fathers to be involved in their children's lives and you can read all about the many related topics in this month's Promotion inside WLE.com.
If you aren't a father yet, get started by reading about becoming a father whether it be through birth, adoption or marriage. Or, if you already are, find out what particular attention they need from their father during various life stages - from infancy (in the article we?ve highlighted below) through toddler, school age years, teenage years and even after they?ve left the home.
We also have resources on how to deal with other aspects of being a father, like talking to your children about the world, sharing household responsibilities and maintaining good work life balance to allow you to connect with your children at even the most stressful times (another article highlighted below). We even have multimedia audio tracks about being a father that cover a range of relevant topics.
Lastly, share your experiences with us this month in a short survey on your involvement in your child?s education. Just click here to start!
